5 Reasons More Parents Are Ditching Wooden Toddler Beds for a Softer First Bed

Wooden toddler beds are the familiar choice. But when an active child is moving out of the cot, the material matters as much as the shape. More parents are looking for a lower, softer first bed built around how toddlers actually move, climb, roll and settle.

1

The material itself is soft

Rounded corners can make a wooden toddler bed feel more considered, but the contact surface is still timber. The Little Lifely Bed changes the material itself. Its frame is made from high resilience CertiPUR US certified foam, with no wood or metal inside the frame, and an OEKO TEX Standard 100 certified outer cover.

2

A low, soft surround suits the way toddlers actually sleep

Toddlers roll, climb, kneel, bounce and sometimes forget where the bed ends. Little Lifely sits at floor level with soft raised foam sides. The lower entry lets a child get in and out independently, while the padded surround creates a softer place to meet when they move in their sleep.

3

There is room for the nights when they still need you

Many toddler beds are sized around the child alone. Little Lifely is available in larger sizes that give a parent room to lie beside their child for a final story, a difficult night or a slow settle, then leave when they are ready.

4

Toddler mess does not have to become part of the furniture

Spills and accidents are part of the first bed stage. The Little Lifely outer covers are waterproof, stain resistant and removable. They can be machine washed on a gentle cycle at 30 degrees and line dried in the shade, so the surface your child touches can be properly cleaned after a bigger mess.

5

The frame goes together without a toolbox

A traditional bed normally needs screws, bolts, slats and tools. The Little Lifely frame uses foam pieces and Velcro attachment, with no screws or metal hardware. That makes setup simpler and lets the transition begin with a bed your toddler can watch take shape.

To care for your Little Lifely Bed, spills and stains may be wiped off or spot cleaned with a damp cloth. For a thorough clean, simply remove the cover by zipping it off and machine wash on a gentle setting at 30 degrees. Line dry in shade, do not tumble dry.

To prevent moisture, please keep this product away from windows and wet floors. If product comes into contact with liquid, remove cover (wash if required) then air dry all parts separately until completely dry.

We recommend regularly lifting out the mattress and vacuuming in and underneath the bed frame.

If you live in a high humidity environment we suggest adding on our Airflow Pads to increase ventilation under your Little Lifely bed.

Mould needs trapped moisture to grow — so the best protection is simply airflow and a dry room. A few easy habits:

  • Lift and air it out occasionally. The bed is light enough to tilt up in seconds. Once every few weeks, stand it against the wall for an hour while you vacuum underneath — that’s all it takes.
  • Keep the room dry. Aim for normal indoor humidity. In humid climates or during wet season, a dehumidifier or an open window does the job.
  • Dry any spills fully. Accidents happen with little ones — blot the area and let it dry completely before putting bedding back on.
